We are the Children of Art

I've been planning on designing a website for the Children of Art group. Since I do not have enough time to design one, I hope this this blogger will do. This is just a temporary webby for CoA. I'll try to update you guys + girls out there with the latest news and happenings in the Malaysian Art Scene.

Some people been asking me what Children of Art is all about?... Well, Children of Art actually started out as a small group in myspace where some local youngsters who have interest and passionate about art get together and share their thoughts and ideas. Starting from there, Children of Art grew bigger and today CoA already have 243 members.

I always believe that local artists and designers could go far if they were given the chance to do so and one way to do it is through building up a big network of friends. That is why I decided to open up a group in myspace. CoA does not only joined by local talents but also international artists and designers from all over the world. Most of the active members are from United States. This gives local artists and designers a chance to get to know other artists and designers from the other side of the world and they have the opportunity to exchange their opinions on art & design (in general).

Children of Art's first activity will be the Art Market (Laman Seni) at the National Art Gallery this January 1st 2005 from 8 a.m till 5 p.m. So far, we have received good response from CoA members who would like to join us at our gerai this Saturday. We'll be selling paintings and some craftworks done by the members of the Children of Art. :)
